DANCERS, singers and musicians brought the curtain down on another term with a display of student talent.
Finalists at Emmanuel College performing arts festival took to the stage to impress a panel of judges and the audience after winning a place in qualifying heats.
Up to 20 acts from each of the college's three houses fought for a place, with just three each from Galatians, Romans and Corinthians making it through to the final.
After performing the artistes were interviewed on stage by vice principal Gareth Steer and quizzed by the judging panel.
The eventual winners were Emma Anderson and Kara Ferguson, who sang I Know Him So Well from the musical Chess, taking the crown in their last year at college.
Another duet, Andrew Ewart and Bethany Dunn, reduced some of the panel to tears with their second place emotional performance.
A Romans house group comprising Alexander Walls, Rebecca Pittman, Patrick Foley, Katie Ross, Ellen Weaver, Mark Schweitzer, Victoria Walls, Matthew Goon and Dominic Bell came third with a performance of a song written by Alexander, in which he played piano and rapped.
The other finalists were Funke Adeniyi and Josephine Riani, dancers and choreographers Hannah Wilkinson and Jacques Hudson, singers Katherine Ruff, Matthew Laidlaw and Vikki Waugh, who has taken part in the competition every year and performed in the final on her 18th birthday.
Seyi Adeniyi, who came third last year, tried something new after discovering he can beatbox and teaching himself harmonica.
Vocalist Ben Marshall entertained the audience while the judges were deliberating.
Mr Steer said: "As ever, the standard was extremely high and it's always fantastic to see the amazing talents and skills of our students, some of which are a surprise to the judging panel.
"It's also great to welcome back former Emmanuel students who return every year to do the staging and lighting for the event, for which we're very grateful."
