IT is a case of homes sweet homes for a solicitor who has moved back to her first love of residential conveyancing with regional legal practice BHP Law.
Ailsa Monaghan, who studied to be a barrister and was called to the bar in 2003, is leading the service to home buyers and vendors at the firm's Durham office to meet growing demand following the upturn in the housing market.
Ailsa is the tenth person to join the residential conveyancing team, led by partner Sally Hare, in the last 12 months as it continues to attract work from across the country.
The mum of two trained with a law firm in Sunderland and qualified as a solicitor in 2006 working on miners' claims, residential conveyancing, and wills and trusts.
She spent the next five years with a specialist firm working primarily with the trials team on disputed liability road traffic accident cases.
Ailsa, who is also working nearer her own home in Chester-le-Street, said: "After a long time working on a personal injury cases I wanted to return to private client work and, in particular, residential conveyancing.
"Things are moving again in the housing market so it's a great time to be coming back to it. I want to build up relationships with local agents and clients and spread the word about BHP's excellent reputation and expertise within conveyancing. "
