AN exhibition hosting off the wall artwork is to provide a platform for up and coming artists to promote their bespoke designs.

Celebrated young designer Heather Bareham, of Redcar, will be one of 22 exhibitors to showcase their work at a pop-up exhibition.

The event, Shout About Art, will be staged on Sunday, November 16, at Hurworth Grange, Hurworth, near Darlington.

Heather, 26, a graduate of Cleveland College of Art & Design, has just launched her first signature collection of 3D cutwork effect wallpaper in the UK through her company Patternation and is currently working with American international design firm Keka on designs for iPhone and iPad cases.

“Although my work is starting to branch out internationally it’s always really important to me to have local platforms, such as the Shout About Art exhibition, to promote my work within the North East,” said Heather who works from her design studio in Saltburn-by-the-Sea.

“As well as my wallpaper collection I’ll be showing examples of my designs combining techniques of handcrafted cutwork and drawing, mixed with digital technology, in a range of unique home, card and gift products.

“Being able to meet people face to face and show them my work is a great feeling and I always get such a good response and support for my designs.”

Shout About Art is the brainchild of artist and college lecturer Donna Slyfield enabling up and coming artists and designer makers to demonstrate their creative skills alongside established artists.

The concept provides outlets to promote high-end art and design and also encourage links between galleries and new talent.

Visitors to the exhibition will have the opportunity to view, buy and commission original artwork, from fine art, jewellery, textiles, ceramics, print, illustration and photography.

“We had an incredibly positive response to our last Shout About Art exhibition in May,” said Donna, of Hurworth, near Darlington.

“This time we have 22 exhibitors, only three of which are returning artists, and a number of young local talented designers.

“I feel that it’s so important to support new talent like Heather and the Shout About Art exhibitions allow them to move forward with an artistic platform to promote their skills.”

Entry is £2 on the door with children under 14 years old free when accompanied by a paying adult. Discounted family and friend’s tickets for four adults are available from www.eventbrite.co.uk/e/shout-about-art-hurworth-tickets.

Exhibitors will also be featured on the Shout About Art website – www.shoutaboutart.com – where full details of the event can be found.
