PUPILS trained in conflict resolution now have a place to problem-solve playground squabbles.
Reid Street Primary School’s restorative champions officially opened Conversation Corner with the help of community artist Yvonne Preston who helped decorate the facility.
The school’s premises manager caretaker David Bond renovated an old rundown pergola into a home for diplomacy.
Key stage 2 lead Debbie Hancock said: “When pupils have minor fallings out in the playground our restorative champions can take them into the corner to help resolve their differences.
“There’s a nice seating area and a number of questions on the wall – such as what happened and how are you feeling – which our champions will ask to help deescalate the situation.”
