DIRECTIONALLY challenged kings, a moody donkey and a sheep that sleeps through an angelic visitation were just some of the quirky characters who brought a school Nativity to life.
Pre-Prep pupils from Barnard Castle Preparatory School performed Baubles, a humorous twist on the Nativity, before an audience of friends and family.
The culmination of lots of hard work, the tinsel-tastic performance was staged in the school chapel and involved children from Reception to Year 2.
The festive tale took the audience on a Yuletide journey with Mary, Joseph and baby Jesus accompanied by a school caretaker, some helpful mice and a flock of sleepy sheep as children were reminded of the true meaning of Christmas.
Headmistress Laura Turner said: “The children did so well as there was a great deal to remember, both in terms of words and choreography. It was a fantastic performance which everyone thoroughly enjoyed.”
A collection was taken in aid of the school’s chosen charity, Cardiac Risk in the Young.
