IDENTICAL triplets, who played together in the same football team, are celebrating after achieving their goal of getting into the first-choice universities.
Megan, Laura, and Chloe Summers have spent ten years as team-mates in the Darlington Spraire Lasses football team, which this year won the Durham FA Women's Development League Cup.
When they first started playing for the team, manager Dave Scott had to ask their mum to do their hair differently, so he could tell them apart because the players didn’t wear shirt numbers.
The triplets went to St Aidan’s Church of England Academy in Darlington before Megan and Chloe moved on to Carmel College and Laura studied at Queen Elizabeth Sixth Form College.
Chloe, who was Head Girl at Carmel College, will now study History at Oxford, Megan will study bio-medical science at Sheffield, and Laura will take an integrated masters in geology at Keele University in Stoke-on-Trent.
“It’s just been an incredible year, winning the cup, and now getting into our first-choice universities,” said Laura. “It’ll be strange to be going off to different places.”
