TALENTED students enchanted a packed audience with an evening of music and dance helping a a school cement its reputation as a centre for creative arts.
A spectacular showcase of music and dance was staged at Richmond School and Sixth Form College, the culmination of a year artistic studies.
A two-hour extravaganza featured ensembles, choirs, dance troupes, duets and solos highlighting the rich depth of talent at the school.
A packed musical programme ranged from pop to film scores, jazz to West End musicals, Disney to classical guitar.
Richmond Singers raised the roof while a Year 10 dance ensemble had the audience captivated with its tribute to Beyonce.
Rock band Onesprout, featuring lead singer Hannah Garton, brought edge to the proceedings while Evie Wright restored the calm with a beautiful rendition of Wings.
The string group shared the spotlight with the concert, junior and jazz bands exhibiting the sheer variety of students’ flair for music at the school.
Head of music Allison Brown said: “It was a peerless performance that was thoroughly enjoyed and fully appreciated by the audience.
“Our new department has gone from strength to strength and you cannot go anywhere near it without hearing music coming from all areas.
“Our teachers and our students have done an amazing job and I am incredibly proud of their efforts. They have worked tirelessly in lessons, extra-curricular clubs and in their own time and are a credit to the school, themselves and their families who do so much to support their efforts.”
