GREASE was the word for teenage school leavers as they rock and rolled back the years for their summer night’s prom.
Staff, students and parents at The Dales School, Morton-on-Swale, slicked back their hair and donned swing out skirts for their 1950s grease inspired celebration.
Student Lewis Graham, 17, who came dressed in a leather jacket and black quiffed wig as leader of the T Birds Danny Zuko, said: “Grease is my favourite film ever.
“I really like the music and the dancing so I love the theme tonight.
“I have liked everything about being at The Dales School especially the teachers and I’m really going to miss them all when I leave.”
The Pink ladies and T birds were treated to a luxury limousine ride before returning to their American diner decorated school hall for hot dogs, fries, pizza, ice-cream and bar-b-cued chicken.
Head teacher Hanne Barton added: “This will be my last prom at The Dales School as I will be leaving in the summer so it is a very poignant night for me.
“I have had a fabulous time here as head teacher and will be very sad to say good-bye to such a wonderful team of staff and students.
“The prom is definitely one of the main highlights of the year and a fabulous way for everyone to say goodbye.”
