PROUD sixth formers took students on a grand tour of their college to help them decide on the best options for the future.

Head boy Chris Gill and head girl Lindsay Christison welcomed hundreds of students and their families as Richmond School and Sixth Form College opened its doors to the community.

Current sixth formers became ambassadors and tour guides for the evening giving their peers an insight into the unique learning experience at Richmond.

Chris told guests: “I have been at Richmond School since Year 7 which made the transition to sixth form very easy, with the support of teachers whose doors are always open to you.”

Lindsay added: “There is no better place to study than Richmond Sixth Form College where there is always help and advice to ease you through your journey to university and a career. The atmosphere is unique and the students have a great say in how it is run.”

Prospective students were able to get a taste of the college’s facilities and talk to staff and students about subject options and extra curricular activities.

Head teacher Ian Robertson said: “I am really proud of what we have achieved in the past two years. Our mission is to be the best at preparing students for the world of work, university or apprenticeships.

“Our recent A Level results show the progress of ours students has been absolutely outstanding with 80 per cent securing places at their preferred university, 25 per cent of which were in the elite Russell Group, which is stunning.

“We also continue to do well with apprenticeships as we have excellent links with employers and our goal remains ensuring all students realise their ambitions so their dreams do come true.”
