HUNDREDS of primary school children were given a tantalising taste of life at the big school as it opened its classroom doors to the community.

Richmond School and Sixth Form College welcomed a host of Year 6 pupils and their families to an annual open evening as they consider the next step in their education.

Students played hosts and tour guides as they showed off facilities to the next generation of secondary school children.

Demonstrations were set up in a variety of subject areas and guests were addressed by existing students, including the deputy head boy and girl.

Visitors also enjoyed performances of music and dance and were given the chance to experience sports facilities, laboratories and the library, as well as quiz students and staff about life at Richmond School.

Head teacher Ian Robertson said: “We are always thrilled to open our doors to the community and were delighted to see so many people accept our invitation to have a good look round.

“Our students are the best ambassadors for the school and hearing them speak so passionately about life here is testament to having the right culture in place.”
