GENEROUS partygoers donned black tie and ball gowns for a charity auction evening to help fund two local appeals.
The Dales School, Morton on Swale and Northallerton Young Farmers joined forces to help boost the £60,000 target set to refurbish the Dales School Hydrotherapy Pool - a facility crucial to the learning of students with severe and complex needs.
Donations from the evening were also put towards helping raise funds for the £2 million Friarage Hospital MRI Scanner Appeal, the official charity of the year for Northallerton Young Farmers.
More than 120 people attended the glittering event, at the Golden Lion Hotel, Northallerton, where auction prizes included a bottle of champagne signed by Middlesbrough Football Club manager Aitor Karanks, a Manchester City shirt signed by Joe Hart, Marks and Spencer vouchers, a hand made solid oak cheeseboard and tickets to Thorpe Perrow.
Assistant head at the Dales School, Anne Baker, said: “Once again I am delighted at the amount of support that we have had for our Hydrotherapy Pool appeal.
“We are well on our way to reaching our target of £60,000 which will enable us to refurbish a vital facility needed for our students to help enhance their learning environment.
“It’s also wonderful to be able to share this event with Northallerton Young Farmers.”
