YOUNG artists are putting themselves in the frame with an expressive arts exhibition of multi media work.
Fifty-six students from Northallerton School and Sixth Form College will display a variety of original GCSE, AS and and A-Level artwork in a two-day exhibition at Northallerton Town Hall.
Installations, including drama footage, music and media, and 2D prints, illustrations, watercolours, drawings and fine art, will be on show from 9am to 4pm.
Northallerton School and Sixth Form College head of art Anne Chapman said: “Last year we held our end of year art show in Mount Vale Care home in the town, but this year we decided to look at a more central location to enable even more members of the public to come along and enjoy our students’ work.
“It’s a wonderful opportunity for people in Northallerton to come and see what our incredibly talented students have produced and also a great way to showcase our whole art faculty.”
Artist Lauren Hill, 18, of Brompton, will be exhibiting a series of paintings depicting the floral transition of life to death, from her A-Level portfolio, alongside a cross hatching biro drawing of aviation pioneer Amy Johnson.
“I have had a painting exhibited at the Easingwold and District Art Society before but I never told anyone about it,” said Lauren.
“This time I’ve told my mum and she’s really excited to be going to see my work on display.
“I feel really proud that lots of people will be able to come and see the exhibition and I’m looking forward to hearing feedback from everyone on the work I have produced.”
