Students have been getting into the spirit of Christmas early in preparation for their academy’s festive fundraising fair.
A homemade cake stall will be among the attractions at Trinity Academy’s community Christmas event and students have been perfecting recipes in food technology lessons.
All local people are invited to the fair on Saturday, November 16 from 1pm-4pm at the Academy, in Church Balk, Thorne.
Stallholders will be selling Christmas crafts, jewellery, presents and goodies, and there will be games and competitions for children and entertainment provided by Trinity’s own talented students.
Officers from South Yorkshire Fire Service will be giving visitors a demonstration of their life-saving equipment, and Santa will be in his grotto.
Refreshments will be served in one of the Academy’s two restaurants.
Principal Ian Brew said: “The Christmas fair follows on from the success of previous Trinity Academy summer fairs, which have always been pivotal in raising much-needed funds for our nominated charities.
“We hope that as many people from the local community as possible will come along and support us in our fundraising efforts, and enjoy a great afternoon out at the same time.”
Admission is 50p per adult, 25p concessions or just £1 for a family of four.
All proceeds from the event will go to Bluebell Wood Children’s Hospice, Cancer Research UK and Cambodia Action.
