PUPILS’ learning is being enriched through music and dance thanks to the help of a performing arts company.
Children at Marchbank Free School, Darlington, staged a show-stopping spectacular setting out their million dreams for the future.
Experts from the Darlington Academy of Performing Arts ran the workshop culminating in a performance of A Million Dreams and a dance routine using ribbons.
The event was the latest in a programme designed to complement the academic curriculum at the school with a raft of enrichment activities.
Head of school Tess Wright said: “The children all had an amazing time and sang and danced their hearts out.
“Activities such as these are so important to our immersive approach to learning. Not only do the children make their lasting memories during these sessions but they also help them to engage more fully in their academic studies.
“Some of our students are already involved in the performing arts outside of school and events like these help pupils identify and consider the potential of prospective careers in this field.”
