A DRUMMING sensation beat the opposition hands down after wowing his peers with a dazzling display of his talent.

Jack Sutton proved he had the X-factor in an annual performing arts festival staged by The King’s Academy, Coulby Newham.

The teenager’s spectacular show with the sticks before an audience of Year 7 students saw him take the crown for the second time.

The annual contest pitted singers against violinists, dancers against comedians, guitarists against pianists in a peerless performance of young talent.

A panel of judges from America judged the competitors on their individual abilities and routines before the audience selected its favourite act from the 16 taking part.

Jack said: “I think this year was the most keenly fought yet and I thought all the other performers were really good. So I was shocked but very pleased to win.”

Principal Chris Drew added: “I found it virtually impossible to separate many of the acts and was pleased not to have to make the final decision.

“Jack is incredibly talented and deserved the win but all the contestants did exceptionally well, particularly as it is never easy performing in front of your peers.”
