SCHOOLBOY footballers have scored another success after securing nine places in the county side.
Students from Richmond School and Sixth Form College will again play for the North Yorkshire squad after successfully completing rigorous trials for places in the U16 and U18 squads.
Adam Walker, 17, Sean Thompson, 17, Josh Devlin, 17, Nathan Simpson, 16, Ryan Hart, 16, Thomas Gilroy, 17, Joey Hope, 15, Dan Luck, 15, and Sanny Lingthep, 15, continue a tradition at Richmond School and Sixth Form College of providing some of the best footballers in the country.
Six will play in the U18 squad and three in the U16s tackling sides from all over the region, including Durham, Northumberland, South Yorkshire, Cleveland and Cumbria.
Richmond School and Sixth Form College has an enviable record for footballing success with countless league and cup awards in the trophy cabinet.
Sean said: “We have played together for many years now and training has started well. We are really looking forward to the season ahead. There are some strong sides in the region which helps us raise our game.”
Coach Jonathan Kellett said: “To have this many boys again in the county squads is really rewarding. All the players show exceptional levels of skill, dedication and passion for the game which makes them a delight to coach.”
