Nursery and reception children celebrate in exotic style.

A HERD of camels added a new dimension to a school nativity as children celebrated the festive season in exotic style.

Around 60 nursery and reception children at West Park Academy, Darlington, entertained friends and family with two performances featuring Mary, Joseph, baby Jesus and a variety of stars, animals, angels and good shepherds.

Children had been rehearsing hard for the past three weeks learning lines and lyrics for the annual extravaganza while parents added to the school’s costume wardrobe with a set of camel outfits.

Deputy vice principal Helen Dummett said: “The children all did extremely well and thoroughly enjoyed themselves. The audience were very appreciative too as it was evident from the performances just how hard everyone had worked on the prodiction.”
